THE PROJECT

Identify, contact, and qualify acquisition targets for a Florida-based PE-backed provider of pediatric therapy solutions including speech, occupational, ABA and physical therapy.

BACKGROUND

Throughout 2020 and 2021, our firm was retained on the buy-side to research and source high-quality providers of speech, physical, occupational, and behavioral therapy services in various markets throughout Florida. We identified clinic-based and home-based businesses providing care across various payor categories.

PROCESS

By utilizing our firm’s proprietary research and outreach process, we identified over 800 privately-held companies in Florida and spoke with over 250 business owners. We spoke with the owners about our client, their acquisition strategy, and the value proposition to completing a transaction with them and joining an established pediatric therapy network to better serve children.

RESULT

In late 2020 and 2021, our client, through us, acquired four providers of speech, physical, occupational, and ABA therapy in Florida. We first contacted the owners of the companies in 2020 and after explaining our client’s strategy, the owners foresaw a great opportunity to better serve the children they work with by consolidating their back office work allowing them to do what they do best: help children.
